Went out far with a mission. We needed one lingcod and one Yellow Eye Rockfish and the first one that came up was this 18 lbs beast! This fish was at least 80 years old!

Captain Robwil’s connection to the water began at the age of 14 in Venezuela. What started as a simple invitation from a friend led to his first peacock bass and ignited a lifelong dedication to the sport. This early spark eventually followed him through his service in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Virginia and introduced to the intricacies of saltwater kayak fishing. After completing his enlistment, he moved to Florida to settle on the Treasure Coast, transitioning from a passionate angler into a professional guide who has spent years mastering the local patterns of both the Atlantic and the inland canal systems. For Captain Robwil, the most rewarding aspect of guiding is the human connection and the memories made on the deck. He often recalls a specific trip with a family where a young girl used a simple lure she had found at a local fair; when that lure finally landed four fish after a quiet morning, the pure joy on her face became a career-defining moment. He approaches every outing with this same level of care, prioritizing the guest experience above all else. Known for his relaxed demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile—whether that means extending a trip for a last-minute bite or preparing fresh ceviche right on the boat—he ensures that everyone from novice children to seasoned pros feels welcome and supported. The diversity of the Stuart area is what keeps his work interesting, as the unique ecosystem allows him to pivot between different styles of fishing throughout the year. One day he might be navigating the productive nearshore reefs for snapper and cobia, and the next he is offshore utilizing specialized techniques like kite fishing for sailfish or drifting live bait for mahi and tuna. His expertise also extends into the freshwater world, where he leads quiet, tactical kayak missions for peacock bass and snakehead. By understanding the seasonal movements of these species, he provides guests with a reliable, expert-driven perspective on the best way to spend a day on the water.
The Vessel: Performance and Comfort
Safety and performance are paramount at V-Strike Charters, and our primary vessel is designed to deliver both. Guests will fish from a 27' Sea Pro center console, a robust motorboat powered by twin 200HP Suzuki engines capable of a 35-knot cruising speed. This ensures less travel time and more time with lines in the water. The boat is fully rigged with professional-grade technology, including a high-definition fish finder, GPS, and a dedicated bait tank to keep our lures active and fresh. To enhance the social aspect of the trip, the deck features plush bean bag seating and a multimedia system for music, creating a comfortable environment for a private offshore charter departing St. Lucie Inlet.

Frequently Asked Questions for V-Strike Charters in Stuart and Lake Ida What’s included in a V-Strike Charters fishing trip in Stuart, FL?We provide a comprehensive experience so you can focus entirely on the bite. Every trip includes all high-quality rods, reels, tackle, and live bait. We also cover your Florida fishing licenses, so there is no extra paperwork for you. On our 27' Sea Pro, we keep a cooler stocked with ice and water, and as a special touch, Captain Robwil often prepares fresh ceviche from your catch right on the deck. Do I need to bring my own fishing gear for a Lake Ida kayak trip? No, you don’t need to bring a thing! We provide specialized light-tackle setups perfectly tuned for the aggressive strikes of peacock bass and clown knifefish. Whether you are fishing from the boat in Stuart or a kayak on Lake Ida, we ensure you are using the exact professional gear needed to land these species. Of course, if you have a "lucky" rod you prefer to use, you are always welcome to bring it along. How much does a private fishing charter cost with V-Strike Charters? Our rates are designed to be transparent and vary based on the duration and location of the trip. We offer 4-hour, 6-hour, and 8-hour sessions to fit your schedule. For the most current pricing on nearshore Stuart outings, offshore adventures, or guided Lake Ida kayak fishing, please visit our [Rates Page] where you can view live availability and secure your date online. Is fish cleaning and filleting included in the service?Absolutely. Part of the V-Strike Charters experience is ensuring you leave with a fresh meal ready for the pan. After we return to the dock in Stuart, Captain Robwil will expertly clean and fillet your legal catch. We provide the bags; all you need to bring is a small cooler to keep your fillets cold for the ride home. What is the best time of year to fish in Stuart, FL?Fishing is productive year-round here, but the target species change with the seasons. The winter months are famous for the sailfish run and snapper nearshore. Spring and early summer (April through June) are the peak times for mahi-mahi offshore. If you are targeting peacock bass on Lake Ida, the warmer months from March through October offer the most consistent action. What should I bring on my V-Strike Charters fishing trip? While we handle the gear and licenses, we recommend you bring sun protection (hat, polarized sunglasses, and non-spray sunscreen), a light jacket for early mornings, and any snacks or preferred beverages you’d like to keep in our cooler. Please wear non-marking, rubber-soled shoes to stay steady and comfortable on the boat deck. Are your trips family-friendly for younger children?Yes! We love hosting families and introducing kids to the water. Our nearshore Stuart trips are perfect for children because they offer shorter travel times and frequent action with species like snapper and Spanish mackerel. Captain Robwil is patient and focused on safety, ensuring that every family member—regardless of age—has a fun and memorable time on the water. How do I book a trip to target peacock bass with V-Strike Charters?Booking your freshwater adventure is simple. You can navigate to our booking calendar, select the "Lake Ida Kayak Fishing" option, and choose your preferred date. Since these trips are highly specialized and tides/weather play a role, we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance to ensure you get the best morning or afternoon window for the peacock bass bite. What happens if the weather is too rough for an offshore trip?Safety is our top priority. If Captain Robwil determines that conditions in the St. Lucie Inlet or offshore are unsafe, we will work with you to reschedule for a better day. Because we offer the unique "2:1" location advantage, we can often pivot to a Lake Ida trip where the inland canals remain calm and fishable even when the ocean is too rough.
